What Is SharePointGovernance.org and Why Is It Needed?
Microsoft SharePoint has seen explosive in organizations around the world. It’s Microsoft’s fastest-growing product, having achieved $1 billion in sales faster than any other Microsoft product.
Because of its elegant simplicity, SharePoint has become one of the most widely deployed technologies within organizations. This requires effective controls and policies in order to manage its growth in a controlled manner. To take full advantage of SharePoint’s value, it helps to be able to share and leverage the expertise of others in the industry who are facing the same challenges that you are.
SharePointGovernance.org represents a community of experts and practitioners that deal with SharePoint day in and day out, in real-world situations. The purpose of SharePointGovenance.org is to be a trusted and informative source for real‐world SharePoint Governance information, where community participants can share knowledge ranging from high-level strategy down to the tactics of deploying and managing SharePoint.
How Did It Start?
The original concept for www.SharePointgovernance.org was created by Russ Edelman, founder and CEO of Corridor Consulting, Inc. "The massive proliferation of SharePoint 2007 introduced a need for organizations to learn not only from noted authorities, but also from each other. In support of this emerging need, the site has been established to provide a free-flowing exchange of information between organizations designing, implementing, scaling and supporting SharePoint based solutions."
Doculabs, the leading strategy and process provider in information management will lend brand and credibility to the site through content development. Doculab’s experts will write regular content and provide insight on how to effectively develop a SharePoint platform.
