The Goals of a Governance Committee
I'm wondering what everyone would say are the goals of a governance committee. For me a few, but not all are:
    • Creating a cohesive strategy
    • Increasing communication between formerly silo'd groups
    • Information architecture
    • Taxonomy definitions
    • Delegation of tasks

What does everyone else think?

Hmm, interesting question though your own suggestions are unclear. To answer, you must first clarify where a "SharePoint comittee" fits into a complete SharePoint governance organisation. To me the confusion generally starts when we mix strategic, tactical and operational tasks together. Call me oldfashioned but I prefer a clear Governance organisation that deals with theese 3 levels in a structured way.

Besides this, I think SharePoint governance needs to be split into a technical side and a business/organisational side. Which, off course overlaps :-)
